Debating team, Atlanta University, c. 1900
A rich and diverse program of activities outside the classroom promoted students’ moral, social, intellectual and physical development. These have included daily chapel services, lectures, debates, literary society meetings, concerts, plays, sorority and fraternity events, and athletics.
