This collection of approximately 6,000 photographs includes images of students,
alumni, faculty, administrators, campus events, and buildings. There are also
photographs of people associated with the Interdenominational Theological Center,
Clark, Morehouse, Morris Brown, and Spelman Colleges. In addition there are photographs
of individuals not affiliated with the University including such prominent persons
as Josephine Baker, Ralph Bunche, George Washington Carver, Frederick Douglass,
A. Philip Randolph, Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Sr., Walter White,
and Booker T. Washington. These photographs document University life and also
capture its role in the larger community with images of the prominent visitors
and historic events that were on the campus.
