During the week of June 5, the AUC Woodruff Library will be upgrading the existing library search interface, WorldCat Local, to WorldCat Discovery. While both interfaces are provided by the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), WorldCat Discovery will provide users with a more intuitive search experience, greater discoverability of library resources, and expanded functions for citation management and research support.
WorldCat Discovery will still give Library users access to search results from the AUC Woodruff Library as well as other libraries with holdings in WorldCat. For those users on the go, WorldCat Discovery offers a 'new, mobile-ready discovery interface' making accessible 2.8 billion electronic, digital and physical resources from one's fingertips. Researchers will also notice an improved online A-Z index for discovering and accessing electronic journals as well as a new interface for retrieving items from course reserves.
The AUC Woodruff Library remains committed to being the first and best choice for users in their search for information, and the upgrade to WorldCat Discovery further demonstrates this unwavering commitment to meet the needs of researchers at the AUC and worldwide.
If you have any questions regarding the upcoming upgrade to WorldCat Discovery, please contact your department’s designated subject librarian.
