| JOB TITLE: RECORDS MANAGER/ARCHIVIST |
| SUMMARY: |
| The Robert W. Woodruff Library of the Atlanta University seeks an energetic and experienced, individual to advise and lead as it develops a program to preserve the institutional records of the schools of the Atlanta University Center. This individual will be working with the Library’s CEO and Director, and the staff of the Archives department to implement key recommendations from assessment findings and facilitate the administrative dialogue around establishment of a formal program. This includes development of policies and procedures for arranging, describing, preserving and providing access to records of historical value; design and delivery of training on records management to the AUC Community and development of an education seminar for AUC faculty. The incumbent will have supervisory responsibilities for a staff of one. Appointment is part-time and 2 year grant funded. |
| REQUIREMENTS: |
• ALA-accredited MLS or relevant graduate degree
• Relevant experience in the administration of institutional records
• Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation desired
• Supervisory experience
• Effective Project Management skills
• Knowledge of record keeping regulatory environment and experience developing records retention schedules
• Proven experience in the design of institutional records management programs
• Knowledge of and experience with electronic records and document management products
• Self motivated, able to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Effective facilitation, negotiation and consensus building skills
• Ability to conduct training and provide consultation

| The Robert W. Woodruff Library
(RWWL), constructed in 1982, serves four historically
black institutions in the Atlanta University
Center - Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse
College, Spelman College, and the Interdenominational
Theological Center. The Library serves 8,908
undergraduates and 1,425 graduate students.
The Library holds 374,968 volumes, subscribes
to 1,428 serials, holds 54,038 bound periodicals,
859,290 microfilms, a growing number of electronic
databases, and special collections and archives
rich in African American materials. The Library
is a member of ARCHE, SOLINET, OCLC, HBCU Library
Alliance, and a participant of the Georgia
state network, GALILEO. |
