Collaboration
with the collegial community of librarians and archivists
in the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta area was key to successful
planning and the installation of the first public museum-quality
exhibition of the Morehouse King Collection.
The exhibition, “I Have A Dream”: The Morehouse
College Martin Luther King Jr. Collection,” was displayed
January 15 through May 13, 2007 at the Atlanta History Center
(AHC). The exhibit was mounted in four months—an effort
that would normally require two years for planning and preparation.
During the five-month run of the exhibit, more than 72,000
visitors viewed the installation, the largest attendance
for any AHC exhibit displayed over a comparable time period.
