AUC Woodruff Library Commemorates
Completion of Phase I Renovation with Two-day Celebration!

DAY 2: Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Laureate, author, economist and "Banker to the Poor," stimulated the minds of AUC students, faculty and guests during his August 27 discussion of socially conscious banking and business practices. |
The Board of Trustees of the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library officially dedicated its newly renovated 21st century learning environment with a two-day celebration to stir the hearts and stimulate the mind.
More than 300 guests attended an August 26 ceremonial ribbon cutting featuring student musical groups and remarks by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, the presidents of the AUC Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and representatives from the Woodruff Foundation, the Bank of America and The Coca-Cola Foundation.
The celebration concluded on Friday, August 27, with “An Afternoon with Dr. Muhammad Yunus,” a lecture and book signing attended by 200 Atlanta University Center students, faculty and staff, scholars from other area universities and colleges, and Metro Atlanta community members. Read more...
