Feasibility Study and Capital Campaign
To bring the plan from concept to creation, the Library commissioned a feasibility study to assess the viability of a capital campaign to fund the renovation. The study, conducted in Spring 2006, detailed the two-phase renovation, its costs and the benefits to be realized from the project. The study revealed favorable conditions for pursuing $16.2 million to fund Phase I of the renovation. Based on the study, the Woodruff Library Board of Trustees approved the $16.2 million campaign to fund Phase I.
The Library is grateful for the generosity of its major campaign contributors:
- Bank of America Charitable Foundation - Presented the campaign cornerstone gift of $1 million to fund upgrades to the Library's Archives and Special Collections Department
- Woodruff Foundation - Donated $5.5 million gift conditional upon matching participation from the Atlanta University Center member institutions
- Atlanta University Center Member Institutions -
Contributing required funding to meet Woodruff Foundation matching conditions
