The 2019 AUC Student Arts Festival will take place in the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library's Virginia Lacy Jones Exhibition Hall. The theme for this year is The Black Fantastic. Submitted art should answer the question: "What does the future of Black Culture look like?"
Showcase your alternative realities or imagined futures! Consider Afrofuturism/Africanfuturism, Southern Hip-Hop, Black Comics, Sword and Soul, Steamfunk, and Black Horror as inspiration for your art.
The top three overall winners will receive a gift card and/or museum passes and a chance to have their art displayed in the Library. Those interested in participating can register at this link: http://bit.ly/aucartsfestival. Please direct any questions to Justin de la Cruz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
—The submission deadline is Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at midnight.
—To be considered, please submit the entry form in full, providing a web link to a photo or video of your submission.
—Submitted artwork can be in any format, including but not limited to visual art (painting, drawing, fashion, sculpture, etc.), digital art (graphic design, film) and performance art (poetry, dance, music, monologue, a scene from a play).
—Each participant will receive five minutes to present their work, including performance run time, so any film or music or live performance must be shorter than five minutes.
—Unfortunately, due to time restrictions, not all entries will receive a time slot for this event. Ten entries will be featured and judged in competition at the festival, and up to 10 additional entries may be shown without being judged.
—You must be a current AUC student to present art at this event, however the event is free and open to all to attend.
—Each participant may only submit one piece of art for consideration.
