The Walter W. Sessoms Scholarship, administered and awarded annually by the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library, continues its tradition of supporting AUC students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community impact. For 2025 – 2026 academic school year, four exceptional students have been selected to receive the scholarship based on their merit. The recipients are Amari Currie, a senior at Clark Atlanta University, Asya Armstrong, a graduate student at Clark Atlanta University, Eric Vinson of Morehouse College, and Alyssa Maker of Spelman College. This distinguished award celebrates their remarkable achievements in academics, leadership, and service to the community.

Meet the 2025 – 2026 Recipients

Amari Currie – Clark Atlanta University
Senior – Business Administration (Supply Chain Management)

“I am extremely grateful to receive this scholarship award. This past semester has been a struggle balancing academics and personal expenses. This has resulted in me working two jobs to make ends meet. This scholarship has provided me a way to stay on top of my grades while handling my personal responsibilities. I look forward to maintaining my 3.7 GPA as a scholarship recipient.”
