AUC Woodruff Library Awarded IMLS National Leadership Grant

We are pleased to announce that the AUC Woodruff Library was awarded a $100,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Leadership Grants for Libraries.

The funding will support the development of the AUC Archives Research Center Teaching Faculty Residency. This project will help faculty from the AUC member institutions build courses using archival materials from the Archives Research Center. Over two years, faculty will take part in hands-on workshops,  a two-week institute, guided visits to cultural institutions, and individualized support from librarians and archivists to develop new assignments and course modules that strengthen student research skills and deepen engagement with the histories of the Atlanta University Center and the American South.

The project will produce openly available teaching resources, a digital assignment portal, and a public symposium.  Beneficiaries include faculty, students, community members, and other institutions seeking models for teaching with primary sources.

This award reflects the AUC Woodruff Library’s ongoing commitment to advancing teaching, learning, and scholarship through innovative programs that connect communities with archival collections and primary source research.
