Register for the Virtual Open House: The Digital Yard

Event Date: October 10, 2025 | 11:00 AM.

The HBCU Digital Library Trust is a partnership of the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library, the HBCU Library Alliance, Harvard Library, with funding and support provided by the Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery Initiative.

Join us for a special, virtual open house, “The Digital Yard: An Exploration of the HBCU Digital Library Trust.” This event is designed to introduce and celebrate a significant initiative committed to preserving and sharing the rich cultural and academic legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the digital age.

Open to the broad public – including researchers, librarians, archivists and memory workers, students, faculty, staff, alumni, administrators, and admirers of history from a myriad of organizations – attendees will learn more about the mission, vision, and impact of the HBCU Digital Library Trust. Meet the dynamic Trust team, explore the HBCU Digital Collection online repository, receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the Digitization Hub, and discover how this collaborative effort is working to digitize invaluable archival materials, expand access to HBCU history, and empower institutions to preserve and share their stories through an openly accessible, digital platform.
