Atlanta, GA – Timothy Byram, candidate in the Committee on the Study of Religion and Department of Romance Languages & Literatures at Harvard University, has been named one of two  recipients of the 2024 Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Research Travel Award. This annual award, which provides $1,500 in travel funding, is granted to educators, graduate students, and independent researchers who seek to explore and utilize the invaluable historical resources housed in the AUC Woodruff Library’s Archives Research Center and digital repository – RADAR.

The award aims to assist scholars in covering travel expenses, enabling them to access the rich and diverse holdings within the Archives Research Center. In return, award recipients like Mr. Byram share their research findings with the public, thus fostering greater awareness and accessibility of the library’s extensive collections and archival materials.

Mr. Byram will present his research on “The Rise of Pentecostal Christianity through the Lens of its Precedents in African American Religious History” on March 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Room 208 of the AUC Woodruff Library.
