More than six decades of Morehouse College history are now available to explore!

The Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library, in partnership with Morehouse College, is pleased to announce the availability of more than 1,500 digitized audiovisual recordings documenting Morehouse College’s history, traditions, and legacy from 1954 to 2018.

This remarkable collection brings together recordings originally captured on VHS tapes, audio cassettes, film reels, and other audiovisual formats. The materials offer a rich window into the Morehouse experience and include convocations, baccalaureate services, historic programs from the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel, homecoming events, Glee Club performances, and other significant moments in the College’s history.

Through a CLIR Recordings at Risk digitization grant, researchers, students, alumni, educators, and the broader public can now discover and explore recordings that were previously difficult to access.

The AUC Woodruff Library is proud to help preserve and expand access to the history of Morehouse College and to create new opportunities for research, teaching, discovery, and engagement with its extraordinary legacy.
