Leveraging AI to Advance the AUC Robert W. Woodruff Library’s  Mission

Librarians and library staff at the AUC Robert W. Woodruff Library serve as responsible stewards of AI literacy across the Atlanta University Center. We model best practices, provide training, and partner with faculty, students, and staff to support the ethical and effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in teaching, learning, and research.

The Library advances AI literacy across the Atlanta University Center by modeling responsible AI practices and guiding the ethical and effective use of Artificial Intelligence in teaching, learning, and research. What Guides Our Work. We ground all AI engagement in:

• Privacy – promoting secure, institutionally supported tools and protecting sensitive data.
• Transparency – Disclose AI use and explain how outputs are generated and evaluated.
• Fairness – Review AI outputs for bias and promote equitable use.
• Accountability – Reinforce that AI supports—not replaces—scholarly expertise and human judgment.
• Academic Integrity – Align AI use with campus policies and responsible citation practices.

How We Support the AUC Community

•  Offer workshops and consultations on AI tools and research workflows.
• Provide guidance on verifying AI-generated content.
• Support faculty adoption of AI in teaching and research.
• Promote privacy-conscious innovation and responsible experimentation.
